Home Inspectors are Impartial
Home inspectors are forbidden by law to do any repair work on a home that they inspect, this is done for your protection and to keep the inspection process impartial. You don’t have to worry about a home inspector making up problems in order to become the repair person. Many home inspectors do come from the construction industry so they are qualified to give you a rough idea of what repairs will cost. They can refer you to a contractor, roofer or whatever you need to get a repair done.
Home inspection don’t cover everything, they will be limited to the home itself and maybe the garage. A home inspector will not look at swimming pools, out buildings or septic tanks. Many also don’t include mold testing or radon testing either. However most of the time you can get these services as an add-on to your home inspection.
